Little Fantasio - Now WEEKLY

Good news, everyone! Apparently, Dupuis decided to buy a full story of The Heroic Youth of Fantasio. So starting this today, there'll be six new pages in Spirou magazine every week.

And even better: I already have this week's RAWs and I'll try to get the translation out within the next 24 hours.

Looking at the page numbers, I guess the six pages printed in last year's Christmas special of Spirou magazine mark the beginning of the story, while the ones from this year's Valentine's Day special are kind of a bonus. (Though the Octopus café makes a reappearance.)

So look forward to more Little Fantasio. :)

[EDIT: Translation is done. Waiting for my proofreader's reply now.]

gosh I am so excited, it's so nice to finally have access to these pages as they are released and not years later when someone posts them in a giant batch across forum posts and whatnot....

  5. This is great, thank you so much!! I don't think it's a weekly feature, though. It doesn't look like the next issue has an installment.

    1. Really? How do you know? In that interview in this week's Spirou mag, Tarrin also hinted about how the plot would continue. (He said, he'd give Fantasio "a little friend who's a bit lonely" soon.) So I assumed that this week's story is not another one-shot.

    2. From someone who subscribes and gets it the week before it's in stores.

Maybe they'll run new parts most issues but not every issue. Or maybe this was another self-contained episode to introduce the ongoing series, starting soon.

As long as there is more coming soon, I'm happy either way.

    3. I see. Well, it sucks that there won't be any Little Fantasio next week then. However, it would explain why there was no "to be continued" at the end of the story even though Tarrin hinted at how the story would go on.
Considering that Little Fantasio even made it onto the front cover this week, I'm still pretty confident that we'll see more of it soon. :)

  6. Some news about Little Fantasio at last! In the current issue (3881) there's a preview of the upcoming series. Tarrin says he's finished outlining the story and is now breaking it down into panel-by-panel sketches. Unlike with Maki, he decided to write this one out in full before actually drawing it. The series is announced for 2012-2013.

The preview looks promising, and it seems the focus will again be on the relationship between Fantasio and Zantafio, and their development into the characters we know.
